GOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!

Reyna gets caught in possession, turns it over, goes down in a heap, and Ghana's Dramani goes in alone on Keller & puts the bulge in de ole onion bag! That opening goal is huge. The US has a ginormous task ahead of it now. And Reyna is being stretchered off. Disaster for the Americans.

No es si de bueno. But Reyna looks to be coming back onto the field. Either he's a warrior or he faked injury b/c his turnover cost the team a goal. My guess is the former.

get thee to a bar. or just go to times square - you'll be one of 8 people there, so you should have a good view of the big screen.

Jaffe, hello good morning. Mac Brown here. I have an idea...you should lie to all of your devoted readers. I will turn off the game cast and you will fabricate a play-by-play in which the protagonist (USA) scores more goals than the antagonist (GHA) and I will live a life blissfully unaware of the truth. For example, you might say,"Folks, can believe this? In the history of World Cup Football, this has never happened...the US goalkeeper Keller has just gone end to end, popped a rainbow on the 18' and biked it upper left. This will be a tough match for the gentleman from Ghana."

You know, Mac, it's funny you would say that because the damnedest thing just happened here. Marcelo Balboa just subbed in for the ref at halftime, sent off Essien, Appiah, and Kingson for excessive water-intake in the locker room, and awarded a penalty kick for an undetermined foul against Glenn Myernick. Shocking decision. Dave O'Brien is losing it. Goal for the US and we're all tied at 2. Helluva start to the second half.

Dios mio! My travel agent just called me to say what a tough loss and can't believe the U.S. couldn't score in the 2nd half blah blah. My false utopian world created in lies is quickly falling apart, I can't take it, now I don't know who to believe, I can't trust anybody. No bueno no bueno.

On the plus side, I led the US to the World Cup title a few years ago, beating a Bulgaria team coached by a drunk college buddy of mine. What World Cup was that, you ask? Um, DC 2004, if you must know, and it all played out on the TV in my living room. God bless America (and EA Sports' FIFA 2003).
